Our team has a placard!

I am coming off a fantastic weekend of revelry away with friends. Yes, we even brought a Canadian with us to increase the fun factor. Let’s just say if I had congestive heart failure I would have called my provided for gaining too much weight in too short a time span.

Luckily, I am organizing my office (enter your favorite measure your steps challenge name here). Ours is called Measure the Miles and it has raised my level of awareness to how little I am moving these days. In all fairness, my phone counts my steps and I don’t always take it everywhere.

Here is the current standard on how lazy I have been:

  • Less than 5,000 steps = Sedentary lifestyle
  • 5,000 to 7,499 steps = Low active lifestyle
  • 7,500 to 9,999 steps = Somewhat active lifestyle
  • 10,000+ = Active Lifestyle

This is going to take some doing because when I was a floor nurse in a hospital I struggled to break 10,000 steps. I am aware of my level of activity (Sedentary/Low Active) and it is up to me to increase those steps. I have managed to rope several co-workers into this with me so I am counting on them to keep me on task!
